Collection: simon roussin
Born in 1987, Simon Roussin lives and works in Lyon. After graduating from the Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg in 2011, he co-founded the magazine Nyctalope with Marion Fayolle and Mathias Malingrey, which in its nine issues spread far beyond the initial school project.
Author of comics and children's books, illustrator and painter, Simon Roussin is undoubtedly one of the most inventive cartoonists of his generation. Constantly experimenting with new techniques depending on the project; digital compositions, oil colors or markers are all used in the service of a clear sense of narrative. From Robin Hood - his first book in 2010 - to Xibalba, released in 2018, Simon Roussin's work recurrently focuses on the figure of the hero; his tales tirelessly seeking to recapture the spirit of his childhood reading.
An erudite cinephile, Simon Roussin regularly invites us to discover his personal pantheon. From the golden age of Hollywood to the mythical figures of popular French cinema, hundreds of classics are summoned, via a constantly enriched collection of serigraphs, drawings, paintings and self-published booklets.
In 2019, Simon Roussin begins the production of the graphic novel Des Vivants. Fruit of lengthy research into the resistance network set up in the heart of the Musée de l'Homme in the summer of 1940, this ambitious historical fresco scripted by Louise Moaty and Raphaël Meltz is published by Editions 2024. Multi-awarded, it won the Prix Spécial du Jury at the Angoulême Festival 2022.
