Joyce Lee is a Seoul-based artist exploring themes of desire, identity, and human relationships through a symbolic and emotionally nuanced visual language. Joyce primarily works with watercolor, acrylic, and pencil, using hand-drawn techniques to create intimate, surreal, and often humorous depictions of the human body.
Rather than portraying sexuality in a literal way, she uses posture, metaphor, and visual storytelling to express complex emotional and psychological states. Her creativity is inspired by fantasies and desires, not necessarily her own, but those she observes and reimagines, inviting us to a deeper reflection.
Although she began sharing her illustrations online as a personal archive, her art quickly attracted a large international following. She remains intentionally anonymous, allowing her work to speak independently of her identity. Today, Joyce creates original pieces collected by art lovers around the world and works across various fields, collaborating with musicians, fashion brands, film companies, magazines, and skateboard labels.
In 2025, her drawings were exhibited for the first time in Europe by the Arts Factory gallery, as part of the Serial Sinners group show.
