Born from the shared vision of artist Lou Benesch and cartomancer Laetitia Barbier, the Camena•Tarot is a deck of twenty-six cards inspired by the Tarot of Marseille. It combines the major arcana with four original cards evoking the Camenae, ancient water spirits once worshipped in ancient Rome.

The deck comes with a seventy-page booklet rich in poetic and allegorical interpretations. This guide reveals the esoteric keys to understanding the different levels of interpretation possible. Rooted in a tradition that is sublimated here by Lou Benesch's flamboyant illustrations, the Camena•Tarot is both a tool and a talisman, a receptacle for those who dare to drift in its waves.

Painter and illustrator Lou Benesch grew her artistic practice from a foundation of blending cultures, after spending her childhood between France and America. Inspired by her adoration for nature and folk tales, Lou’s creations are an enchanted mix of plants, animals, anatomy, and mythological creatures.

French-born Laetitia Barbier is an independent scholar, as well as a professional tarot reader and teacher. Her book Tarot and Divination Cards: A Visual Archive was published in 2021 by Cernunnos. She had the privilege of working with cardmaker master Grimaud on the reissue of his Tarot de Marseille and the Oracle Belline from the 1930s.
